The most well known type of art made by Pacific Northwest Natives is the totem pole. Totem poles are made for the purpose of telling a story! Some of the stories are about the family or chief who had the pole made. Other poles tell Native American legends. These legends are often about animals who did important things. A "totem" is a symbol that each Native American family, or clan, adopts. Each clan uses a different animal as its totem. Totem poles are only made to tell stories, they are not worshiped. This totem pole pendant is 1 5/8" long and just under 1/2" wide. The bale on the back has a 1/4" opening.

Finding a pendant that is both affordable and unique was a bit of a challenge, but this pendant was just what I was looking for. It's not solid, but concaved in the back, but otherwise it's everything i had hoped for.
